Psychological Testing For Adults (18+)
Diagnostic clarification, personalized recommendations, and resources to the answers you’ve been seeking.
You’ve been to therapists, doctors, and other providers, but can’t seem to figure out what’s going on. You’re looking for a path forward. Let me support you in finding some answers to your questions.
Psychological testing helps determine if someone meets criteria for a certain diagnosis. Diagnostic clarity can help with understanding what treatments may be useful, offer insight and meaning-making into your experiences, and may support seeking accommodations or services in certain school or work settings. Psychological testing can be used to assess for many diagnoses, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia and psychosis-related disorders. While diagnoses can sometimes elicit stigma and a way of excluding care, they can also be illuminating for people seeking understanding, and offer a path towards accommodations in certain settings, like school or workplaces.
I utilize a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach to evaluation, and aim to explore your diagnosis together. I invite you to share your hopes and concerns for why you’re seeking testing, and my goal is to offer further insight and clarity for any client that seeks psychological testing. All evaluations include a comprehensive interview with me, tailored recommendations, and an opportunity to have any questions about your diagnosis answered. Any psychological assessments beyond the focused diagnostic interview include self-report forms, computerized testing, a summary report with comprehensive recommendations and resources, and a feedback session with me to discuss results, recommendations, and any further questions or concerns.
I offer a few options below, so you can choose what best suits your needs:
-
If you’re looking for greater insight on how your history and relationships might be impacting mental health symptoms you’re experiencing - this is a one-hour diagnostic interview focused on your psychological well-being and clarifying what might be going on. Clients will receive recommendations for current and future therapies that could meet their needs, and, if appropriate, a diagnosis.
-
If you’re looking for answers on whether you have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, this comprehensive psychological assessment will examine attention-based challenges and day-to-day functioning to see if an ADHD diagnosis is appropriate. Clients will receive a brief report with recommendations, along with school or work accommodation letters.
-
If you’re wondering if the challenges you’ve been facing in life, at work, school, and/or with others might be autism, this full psychological assessment may help in determining whether you have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We will collaboratively explore your unique strengths, challenges, history, and experiences, and will rule out any other conditions that may be contributing to what’s going on. Clients will receive a brief report with personalized treatment recommendations, along with school or work accommodation letters.
-
If you’ve been in therapy, haven’t found the results you’ve been looking for, and want to know what’s going on, this full psychological evaluation works to provide a detailed and complete understanding of your functioning and whether there’s a specific diagnosis related to emotional, personality, or relationship challenges. We’ll review your personal history, current symptoms, day-to-day experiences, and you’ll engage in a carefully selected mix of cognitive, socioemotional, and behavioral assessments. Clients receive a full report, along with school or work accommodation letters.
