Who I Help:

I specialize in care for the carers, including activists, caregivers, people-pleasers, and high achievers who give everything to everyone and need a space to rest, be themselves, and receive the care they so freely give to others. I also offer bilingual therapy in Mandarin, and specialize in working with children of immigrants, third culture kids, and first generation folx.

I prioritize working with LGBTQIA+ BIPOC/Global Majority folx because we’re underrepresented in the field of available care providers, and I believe there’s power in not only having someone get what you're going through, but not having to constantly explain yourself.

How I Help:

I provide evidence-based and culturally-grounded liberation therapy for people of Global Majority (e.g., Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color), LGBTQIA+, and allies struggling with the burdens of racism, sexism, ableism, classism, and intergenerational trauma. Evidence-based means that in studies of these treatments, most of the participants showed improvement. Culturally-grounded means that the values, identities, and beliefs that are part of someone’s culture are included into therapy, and aim to offer understanding into how someone shows up in both the challenges and triumphs they’ve experienced.

My approach is rooted in liberation psychology and disability justice, both of which aim to disrupt power hierarchies, prioritize interconnection, and promote leadership by those most marginalized in the face of oppression-based traumas. I draw from and selectively apply different evidence-based approaches, including:

  • acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)

  • internal family systems (parts work)

  • narrative therapy

  • emotion-focused therapy (EFT)

  • cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)

  • mindfulness-based

  • feminist

  • liberation

  • and culturally-sensitive therapies

These approaches allow me to tailor therapy to best fit your needs in a way that feels useful and effective. I am always open to making adjustments when necessary. In working together, my hope is that you feel seen, understood, and like you have someone walking alongside you as we navigate soul wounds and begin the healing process.

Why I Help:

As a queer Taiwanese American therapist, I’m well-versed in living in the in-betweens of multiple marginalized identities, negotiating belonging, and creating home wherever and with whomever. My passion lies in working with clients who also live at these intersections of identity, especially LGBTQ+ Global Majority folx, weaving in shared lived experiences and identities as a path for connection, while honoring the uniqueness of your personal journey. I have a strong commitment to social justice and community organizing, and see therapy as one of many avenues for our collective freedom and access to self-determination. As your therapist, I aim to offer access to a safe, caring, and accepting space for clients to be themselves, to have their pain and suffering held and honored, and to engage in healing on their own terms.
